"Beyond Black" is the name of a series of paintings from 2023 that are predominantly black and white, with beeswax. The wax is applied to the canvas while hot, either over or under the paint. The paintings on this page were shown at the COMMA gallery show, RECURRENCE + RESISTANCE, in January 2024, featuring the art of Mary Joy Murphy and Judy Hodge.
